Introduction
Rapid changes in technology, competition and regulations have made it more important than ever for organizations to be able to respond and adapt quickly. According to a recent survey by McKinsey Global, organizational agility – the ability to quickly reconfigure strategy, structure, processes, people, and technology toward value-creating and value protecting opportunities – is conspicuous by its absence, in most companies, despite that agile organizations report better performance than others. Several social, environmental and economic-political changes are unfolding new and complex challenges. Effective and adaptive responses to these challenges are needed and require global collaborative efforts to drive dialogue about, and understanding of, the tasks ahead and solutions needed.
By fostering responsibility in business and working towards a more sustainable future, organizations are seeking to survive in the tough VUCA times. It is through agile transformations especially in the way they are managing people that organizations can expect to survive the business volatility and uncertainty. Against this backdrop, a two-day conference is being organized by IILM University Gurgaon. The objective is to deliberate on the sustainable business practices of organizations. IILM invites research papers and cases from industry practitioners, government sector, faculty members, research scholars, students and all interested professionals.
