School of Social Science and Liberal Arts Curriculum
The curriculum consists of Major stream courses, Elective stream courses, courses from other disciplines, language courses, skill courses, and a set of courses on environmental education, like Culinary Arts, Literature and Culture, Art and Dance Forms. At the end of the second semester, students can decide to continue with their chosen major or change their major. Finally, at the end of the first year, students would be expected to pick their major specialisation.
- Under 120 credits for BA Degree (3 years), 60 credits will be strictly subject specific and the other 60 credits will be a set of common inter-disciplinary electives for all.
- Similarly, under 160 credits for BA (Hons) Degree (4 years), 80 will be strictly subject specific and the other 80 credits will be a set of common interdisciplinary electives for all.
For a Double Major, in the 3 year course, 50% will go to the first Major and 40% to the second major, of the total 60 credits that is allocated to the specific subject specialization (while the other 60 credits shall be for interdisciplinary electives and common subjects.) For a Double Major, in the 4 year course, 50% will go to the first Major and 40% to the second major, of the total 80 credits that is allocated to the specific subject specialization.

** Since under 120 credits for BA Degree (Hons) (3 years), 60 credits will be strictly subject specific and the other 60 credits will be a set of common interdisciplinary electives for all ; the core 60 credits will have to be divided across 3 years i.e. 6 semesters so 10 credits each semester for subject specialization.
*** Similarly, under 160 credits for BA Degree (4 years), 80 will be strictly subject specific and the other 80 credits will be a set of common interdisciplinary electives for all.
