The Joy of Giving is one of our flagship social initiatives designed to foster a culture of compassion and generosity. We encourage our students to look beyond their academic curriculum and engage deeply with the world around them.
Launched on August 14, 2025, on the eve of India’s 79th Independence Day, the Joy of Giving (JOG) initiative is the cornerstone of IILM University’s Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR). JOG transforms the act of giving from a simple charitable gesture into a collective civic duty, fostering a new generation of empathetic leaders.
Global Alignment: The UN Sustainable Development Goals
We believe in local action with global impact. JOG is strategically aligned with the United Nations SDG 2030 framework, focusing on:
Through hands-on community engagement, our students move beyond the classroom to drive real-world change, proving that leadership is rooted in service.
The Legal Aid Clinic of School of Law, IILM University Gurugram, stands as a dedicated initiative to promote access to justice for all, especially for marginalised and disadvantaged sections of society. Aligned with Article 39A of the Constitution of India, which mandates equal justice and free legal aid, the Clinic embodies the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
The Clinic serves as a bridge between legal education and community service. It provides students with practical exposure to law while simultaneously addressing the real-life legal needs of local communities. Through legal awareness drives, counselling sessions, and outreach programs, the Centre enables people to understand their rights and remedies under the law. At the same time, students develop essential skills such as client interaction, problem-solving, and application of legal provisions in practical scenarios.
Faculty members of the School of Law guide and mentor students in handling issues related to family disputes, labour rights, women’s rights, child rights, and other socio-legal concerns. By organizing legal literacy camps, workshops, and interactive sessions with practicing lawyers and experts, the Clinic not only spreads awareness but also creates an ecosystem where law is seen as a tool for empowerment.
The Legal Aid Clinic is not limited to offering advice but also connects individuals with appropriate authorities and institutions for redressal of grievances. It emphasises a holistic approach by spreading awareness, preventing exploitation, and providing support wherever possible. This initiative reflects the vision of School of Law to produce socially conscious lawyers who are not only proficient in the classroom but also sensitive to the realities of society.
Through its sustained efforts, the Legal Aid Clinic of School of Law has become a platform for nurturing responsibility, ethics, and compassion among budding legal professionals, ensuring that the ideals of justice and equity reach every section of the community.
Organised annually, blood donation camps at IILM are a step towards saving lives. Students, with guidance from faculty, collaborate with organisations like the Red Cross Society to raise awareness and encourage participation. From scheduling the event to promoting it on campus and social media, students take the lead in this life-saving initiative.
The Roshni Rai School is a testament to IILM’s commitment to education for all. It provides free education to children from underprivileged backgrounds, motivating parents in slum areas to send their children to school. Students receive educational kits, including books, stationery, uniforms, and midday snacks. The school also promotes holistic development through activities like debates, music, crafts, skits, and excursions. Hygiene, environmental awareness, and moral education are integral to the programme, ensuring a well-rounded foundation. Students are encouraged to pursue higher education at IILM University, which offers diverse courses in law, liberal arts, and design, among others.
