Assistant Professor
Dr. Vishwa Prakash Jha is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at IILM University, Gurugram in the school of computer science and engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, where his research focused on the development of Teissier-related probability distributions and their applications to real-world datasets such as COVID-19 incidence and rainfall patterns across Indian cities.
Dr. Jha has more than five years of teaching and academic experience. Prior to joining IILM University, he was associated with institutions such as Tagore Group of Institutions Salem, Govt. Engineering College Araria, and NIT Tiruchirappalli, where he taught a variety of subjects including Probability and Statistics, Engineering Mathematics, and Management Techniques. His research contributions include several publications in SCI, SCIE, and Scopus-indexed journals, along with book chapters. His academic interests lie in statistical modelling, reliability theory and machine learning applications.
He is a recipient of prestigious fellowships such as the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF), and has qualified national-level examinations including CSIR-NET (AIR 17), GATE (AIR 71), and TIFR-GS. Dr. Jha is proficient in tools and programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, Wolfram Mathematica, and LaTeX. He continues to engage in collaborative research while mentoring students in applied mathematics, statistical methods, optimization techniques and data science.
