Assistant Professor
Dr. Rahul Thakur is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science & Engineering at IILM University, Gurugram. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from BITS- Pilani and has over 10 years of experience in teaching and research. Prior to joining IILM University, he was associated with the MIT Pune Group, where he contributed to academic and research initiatives. His interdisciplinary research spans Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, Statistics, and Cosmology, with a focus on supernova explosions and their cosmological implications
During his doctoral studies, he worked on the GRAPES-3 Cosmic Ray Project at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR). His research focused on the stability analysis of cosmic ray showers, using mathematical modeling techniques to understanding of high-energy astrophysical phenomena.
Dr. Thakur has published several research papers in SCI-indexed international journals, including Journal of Astrophysics and Astronomy, Nuclear Physics A, Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics, Physics of the Dark Universe, Physics Letters B, New Astronomy, and International Journal of Modern Physics.
He actively collaborates with researchers from various esteemed national and international institutions, such as the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (Gwalior), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (Mumbai), INFN – Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (Italy), and Northwestern Polytechnical University (China), among others.
