I am an academician and researcher with over 12 years of experience in academia and research, specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Healthcare Informatics, and Emerging Technologies. My academic journey has been defined by leading curriculum development, launching innovative AI programs, and implementing modern pedagogical approaches to prepare students for future industry needs.
As a researcher, I have made significant contributions to AI-driven healthcare diagnostics, multimodal medical imaging, geospatial analytics, digital twins, and intelligent systems. I am a reviewer for reputed journals including Elsevier and Springer Nature and serve as an editorial board member for emerging research outlets.
My core research areas span Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Medical Image Processing (including tools like FreeSurfer and FSL, AI in Healthcare Diagnostics, Geospatial Intelligence and Smart Systems, Transfer Learning and Ensemble Learning Architectures, as well as Multimodal Analytics and Digital Twins. I have applied this expertise extensively in translational research, including several BIRAC-supported projects focused on AI-enabled innovation in healthcare diagnostics. Key contributions include the development of AI frameworks for early Alzheimer’s disease detection using multimodal MRI and PET data, the design of hybrid deep learning models for improving accuracy and scalability in diabetic retinopathy screening, and the creation of AI-powered diagnostic solutions optimized for affordability and deployment in low-resource, rural healthcare settings—bridging critical gaps in accessibility and quality of care through cutting-edge, data-driven technology.
I have also actively contributed to BIRAC-funded translational research projects, focusing on applying AI to solve healthcare challenges in resource-constrained settings, exemplifying my commitment to research that directly benefits society.
