MOOTING AND ADVOCACY
The vibrant mooting culture is an application of the art of persuasive advocacy and plays an important role in legal education at IILM Law School. The Moot Court Society at IILM Law School simulated a real- life experience, enabling students to develop their oratory, persuasive, research and writing skills thus making them proficient lawyers. IILM Law School has a dedicated Moot Court Hall on the ground floor, purposefully designed to host Moot Court sessions and serve as a dedicated practice arena for students to refine and elevate their mooting skills.
Achievement
IILM Law School, Gurugram, won the accolade of drafting the best memorial in the 3rd NLU Odisha PHFI Public Health Law National Moot Court Competition, 2023.
CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR LEGAL WRITING (CELW)
The skill of writing and the art of presentation are the two defining characters of excellence in the field of law. Legal writing is an activity that combines these two elements and considering the same, IILM Law School has established a Centre of Excellence for Legal Writing that shall hone the writing and research skills of the students. The centre for legal writing conducts various activities like article writing, judgment analysis, essay competitions, research workshops etc.
Centre of Excellence in Legal Writing (CELW) is hosting its 1st Legislative Drafting Competition, 2023. The topic for the draft is “Uniform Civil Code for Marriages in India.
LEGAL AID CENTRE
Article 39A of the Constitution of India enunciates the requirement for accessible legal aid in a society like India. Recognising the role of law schools in this endeavour, the Legal Aid Centre in IILM Law School became functional officially from 22nd September 2021. It has envisaged multifarious legal service schemes with respect to paralegals; legal clinics; programmes for unorganised workers and marginalised communities. IILM has a dedicated legal aid Centre office on the ground floor of the Law School with sufficient seating arrangements.
Recent Event
IILM Law School, Legal Aid Centre in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Successfully conducted Speed Mentoring Session in Government Senior Secondary School, Kherki Daula. The committee interacted with class XI & XII Students and discussed various topics with them. Miss Neena Verma had a discussion with law students to understand our mission and vision. The Session started with an introduction to legal aid center and a discuss on careers in law. Various areas like Rights of Children, Cyber Crime, POSH, Menstrual Hygiene were discussed by the law students.
LEX CLAVA
Lex Clava is a student-run law club of IILM Law School. It engages students in various kinds of activities, academic and social. It comprises of students from all the academic years. As a part of Lex Clava, students get the opportunities to participate in various extra-curricular activities, law-related discussions, debates, simulations and thus building a unique five-year experience.
The club organized an Amendment Dynamic on Digital Data Protection Bill. Amendment Dynamic is a unique competition where students debate about the positives and negatives of a recently brought amendment. Various group and panel discussions are also organized at the student level. The club thus aims at enriching the full experience of studying law at IILM Law School.
