Board of Studies (BoS)

There are Board of Studies in each discipline/subject or a group of allied disciplines/subjects in the various schools under the university. The Board comprises the Head of the Department as the Chairman, all professors in the department as members, one faculty member nominated by the Dean of the School and experts nominated by the Vice Chancellor.

The functions of the Board of Studies are:

•  To recommend the courses of studies, teaching and examination schemes in their respective subjects.

•  To prepare a panel of paper setters and examiners for the semester-end examination.

•  To advise on all matters relating to their respective subjects referred to them by the faculty or the Academic Council.

•  To recommend books and reading materials for subjects concerned.
