Introduction:
B.A (Hons) Applied Psychology, is a Bachelor of Arts course in Applied Psychology which includes the areas of clinical psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, occupational health psychology, human factors, forensic psychology, engineering psychology, as well as many other areas such as school psychology, sports psychology, and community psychology. In addition, many specialized areas in the general field of psychology have applied branches (e.g., applied social psychology, and applied cognitive psychology). The Bachelor of Arts course is generally a three academic year degree course with one year of research and applied curriculum.
Course Overview:
B.A (Hons) Applied Psychology builds a foundation for a career in psychology and related areas, offering modules of modern psychology like biological, developmental, abnormal , and disability studies to name a few. Students of the Program are comprehensively trained in research skills as during the degree the student will be trained to conduct qualitative and quantitative & publish papers in renowned journals in their final year.
Applied Psychology offers a rich and diverse curriculum. Students will complete courses that examine psychology from a philosophical and cultural perspective, enhance their critical thinking and help them develop a strong understanding of modern day psychology.
The combination of courses offered will enable them to develop confidence, knowledge, capability and purpose in both the research and practical application of psychological theory. The course examines how psychology is applied to work and in the community and how psychological interventions might help in real world problems.

Objectives:
- Developing an understanding of various theoretical concepts underlying applied psychology
- Inculcating the knowledge provided via classroom lectures, workshops or seminars and applying the same in real life settings.
- Practicing effective listening skills in order to understand narratives of pain and social suffering enabling them to become more aware about themselves and others.
- Developing and understanding of research skills so that students are able to design and conduct systematic and ethical applied and basic psychological research studies.
- Development of skills related for competence in clinical work with a focus on empathetic understanding
- Enhancement of knowledge related to self through the utilization of Indian Psychological concepts for personal growth.
- Learning skills related to research and analysis of data in a scientific manner using SPSS and other social science software
